December 2024

As we move into the holiday season, our resilience characteristic of the month is perseverance. Perseverance means continuing to try even when things get hard—a concept we can all relate to, no matter our age.

This December, we encourage you to engage in meaningful family conversations about perseverance. Whether around the dinner table or during quiet moments together, discussing what perseverance looks like can inspire your child to overcome challenges with determination.

To support these conversations, Resilience Florida Parent Guides provide helpful tips and ideas for guiding your child through this important concept.

Winter break is also the perfect time to foster a love of reading! Consider curling up with a good book with your child from the Florida Department of Education’s recommended reading list. These books feature role models and stories that encourage resilience and perseverance across all grade levels.

We hope this holiday season brings you and your family special moments of joy and reflection. Wishing you a peaceful winter break filled with love, laughter, and the enduring spirit of perseverance.
