What is the FAU-MAX PLANCK ACADEMY?
Located on Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus at Jupiter, the Florida Atlantic University - Max Planck Academy is the premier early university entrance high school experience in North America for STEM-focused juniors and seniors in high school.
The Academy will begin classes in the Fall of 2020 with 50 high school juniors pursuing a university curriculum while matched with leading FAU and Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI) researchers. Academy students receive intensive research training, enrichment experiences, and mentorship by FAU and MPFI faculty and post-doctoral students, leading to independent neuroscience-related research projects in MPFI-sponsored laboratories.
Graduates, beginning in 2022, will earn an Academy designation with a Max Planck Society seal on their FAU High School diploma, followed by acceptance to the FAU Max Planck Honors Program, diverse study abroad opportunities, and accelerated completion of degree programs at FAU’s Wilkes Honors College and FAU. The FAU Max Planck Academy provides an unmatched early university experience, building foundations for entrance to exceptional graduate and professional programs, and the opportunity to contribute to the broader research community in South Florida and throughout the world.
