Tuesday, Oct 31, 2023
Congratulations to Ms. Deskin, our elementary school counselor! She partnered with Ms. Wuest this summer to create a powerful program infusing mental health learning with art. On October 28 th , Ms. Deskin and Ms. Wuest presented their program at the Florida School Counseling Association Conference in Daytona Beach. Their creativity inspired elementary school counselors across the state!
We are excited to announce that we have officially launched the Navigate 360 Resiliency lessons in grades 6-12. Middle school students will be experiencing the lessons through social studies classes, 9 th grade through leadership, 10 th grade through SLS, 11 th grade during scheduled Zoom meetings and 12 th grade through Class of 2024 assignments.
Resilience begins with building a strong foundation of mental health by building awareness, advocacy for oneself and learning about resources. The program begins with 5 lessons covering mental health and then moves into 6 lessons of character and skill building for empowering strong life skills in our students.
As promised, we will include a Parent Resource Guide each month for continued education and conversation at home. The School Counseling Team invites parents to come along with us every step of the way. In the spirit of the season, we want to extend our gratitude for your support and partnership in educating your students.
