FAU High admissions selections are based on the competitiveness of applicants, with acceptances offered to the most competitive and well-rounded candidates based on the following criteria:

Completed Online Application

Admissions decisions are based on a completed application, with documents, including a completed interview. Applicants who fail to provide all required documentation including but is not limited to, résumé, personal statement, recommendation forms, and entrance exams by the admissions deadline will not receive the opportunity to interview. 

Core Un-weighted GPA

Un-weighted GPA: 3.8 (minimum)

Academic Records are required as part of the online application and are self-reported by the applicant. Final grades from previous grade, and first semester of current grade, are required. Applicants must include a copy of an official high school transcript, showing cumulative GPA, standardized test scores, and all high school courses attempted (including high school courses completed in middle school).

High School Math Courses

  • Algebra 1
  • Geometry
  • Algebra 2

*A or B letter grades required

Next Generation AccuPlacer College Readiness Test, SAT Test Score Report or ACT Test Score Report

Required Next Generation AccuPlacer Test (minimum for admissions consideration):

Reading 280 (out of 300)
Writing 280 (out of 300)
Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS) 280 (out of 300)
WritePlacer (may only be taken once) 4 (out of 8)

SAT Test Score Report - SAT is out of 1600 (minimum for admissions consideration):
10th Grade 550 per section
11th Grade 600 per section

 

ACT Test Score Report - ACT is out of 36 (minimum for admissions consideration):
10th Grade 22
11th Grade 25



The Admissions team does not encourage multiple retakes of the AccuPlacer. We will accept two score reports.


*Students are highly encouraged to submit SAT, ACT, or ACT Residual score reports (in place of the Next Generation AccuPlacer) when applying, it is not an admission requirement, however if you have taken either the SAT, ACT, or ACT Residual and would like to share the scores, be sure to upload the report within your application.

FSA Mathematics Level 4
Florida End of Course (EOC) Assessments Level 4

Students without Florida Assessment Scores should submit other school based standardized test scores (e.g. Stanford 10, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, TerraNova)

Letters of Recommendation

  • 2 Core Teachers
  • 1 Administrator/Counselor


Recommendation forms must be submitted electronically within the application from the applicant’s current school. We do not accept recommendations via email or in paper form. The principal/school counselor and academic instructors need to complete the electronic FAU High School form.

Personal Statement

Must be submitted as part of online application

Attention!

A non-expired Photo ID is required of the test taker and must be presented prior to testing. You cannot take the test without proper identification. Acceptable forms include:
  • Current Driver's License
  • State Approved ID
  • Current Passport
  • Current Federal ID Card
  • Tribal ID Card
